First Mennonite has a long history of investing and of being committed to ministry for and with youth. We continually work at providing a welcoming and safe environment in which youth will be able express their love for God in worship, experience Christian love in community, and extend God’s love to the world. ALL YOUTH are invited to come as they are and be who they are as we grow together in our intertwined faith journeys.
For the safety of our children, First Mennonite has developed a comprehensive policy for adult/child interactions called “Safe Sanctuaries.”
Junior High
The Junior High group at FMC is one of the most alive and energetic groups at FMC. This group led by the Junior High Ministry team gathers for time of discipleship and faith exploration during the Sunday School hour each Sunday at 9:15 am as well as a higher energy time on Wednesday evenings during Church Family Nights.
Senior High
The Senior High gathers weekly on Sunday morning at 9:15 am to explore the joys and challenges of living out their faith in the world today. In addition, the Senior High Youth Group meets on Wednesday nights to worship God, build community, and explore missions/service. The Senior High Youth Group at First Mennonite is structured in such a way as to engage all youth, to encourage them in their spiritual journeys, to equip them to use their own ministry gifts, and to empower them in ministry leadership.
